Welcome!  I’m Pat Murray, owner of I Buy Guitars.  I’ve been buying and selling guitars since the mid ‘ 70s. In 1991, I started working in the vintage guitar market on a full time basis. Not many people feel that they have the best job in the world, I just happen to be one of the fortunate few.

My goal has always been a simple one: Provide an honest and professional source for vintage guitars to collectors and enthusiasts.

Things have been rocky in recent years for the vintage guitar market. I took a “hold back” approach to the market and went into strictly “buying mode.” My sales were put on hold in anticipation of market recovery. The past few months have convinced me that things are turning around in the market. Certainly the market isn’t it was at the end of 2006 (that’s a good thing) but interest is gradually climbing again as it was  before all the “speculator “ nonsense took over the market. My plan is to reintroduce some vintage pieces to this site that are for sale as well as show some pieces of interest that aren’t for sale. This process will take some time, but I hope you will be patient and enjoy some of the featured items I have shown here on my site.
